Now, a bunny in the bath!
…that’s one of the comments on a Youtube video of mine. It’s implying that I am so fat that I couldn’t possibly be a human being. That I must be some sort of animal, who doesn’t deserve the same amount of respect as other human beings, because I weigh more than them.
I can write off Youtube comments as just being trolls. They’re probably just trying to push my buttons. Trying to get negative attention. They’re probably nose-picking 14-year-olds who have nothing better to do with their time than go around leaving mean comments on people’s videos.
There’s more to that post. I highly suggest you read it.
It is the people that hurt my BFF that make me want to go all “bust yo kneecaps Mafia style” on them. I hate that my BFF was so hurt by stupid, hateful, and generally ASSHOLIC and even worse, the people who are kind to her face and snicker behind her back :-(
My best friend is about the sweetest, most open, loving, non-hateful, funny, smart, creative chick I know. Her personality is effervescent and she has beautiful blue-grey eyes that sparkle when she is amused, which is the majority of the time. She also has a kinda smooshy nose and she loves that it’s different. She loves playing with color in her hair and doesn’t take things too seriously. And she happens to be a pretty big girl.
But people don’t notice all of that other stuff. The thing they judge and talk about is her size. And it’s not just the people who’ve newly met her. She has a coworker who she’s quite close to who she recently found out is cruel behind her back. I just want to say to all of them…
GET THE FUCK OVER IT, PEOPLE!
So fucking WHAT if she’s fat? What difference does it make to YOU? How does it personally affect you that she doesn’t fit into a size 6? What business is of yours that she wears plus sizes?
Does it offend your eyes? Then fucking look away and shut the fuck up, because NEWS FLASH! Most people in this country are overweight. In fact, you’d be better either gouging out your eyeballs or permanently relocating to fucking Kenya or something.
Concerned for her health? Don’t be. She has healthy blood pressure, good blood sugar levels (she can even be classified as hyPOglycemic!), and she bikes and walks all the damned time. She’s probably healthier than your judgmental ass. She just wears a bigger size clothing. And who…. fucking… cares?!?!
I just don’t get why it’s such a big deal. She generally has a really great attitude about life in general, including her size. She knows she’s big. She’s not blind, folks. But it’s such a huge thing for people. I just HATE that people make fun of her for it. You’d think we’d be a little more advanced as a society than to resort to calling someone fat and going on and on about it. Do you have nothing better to do? Can you really not be bothered to get to know this girl to learn that she looooooooves to read? Or that she loves turtles and giraffes? Or that she owns over a hundred pairs of earrings and they’re almost all crazy, wild, and colorful and she doesn’t give two squirts of shit if they match anything else? Or that she has her bucket list posted on her wall in individual cut outs and actively pursues fulfilling it? No, all they see is fat fat fat. And that, my friends, is a very sad way to see the world.
Who knows how many great, interesting, kind, loving people these judgmental haters have passed up having in their lives because they’re focused on big nose big nose big nose or crooked teeth crooked teeth crooked teeth???
So to answer the question posed in the subject of this rant? Yes, beautiful Becca, you ARE human. You have flaws and unique things about you that make you interesting. But you know what isn’t human?
A fucking troll.
And I don’t care if this is on your YouTube video (which was awesome, btw) or in the cubicle next to yours. So try not to let them get you down, sweetheart. Yes, it hurts. And you’ve done a FANTASTIC job of letting ignorant people’s comments slide right off of your back. Sometimes those comments are going to get to you, like they have recently. But I hope you’re able to shake them off again and get back to being your amazing, beautiful, free-spirited self.
